The Downtown Main Street Reconstruction Project is underway and will bring important improvements to Downtown Sun Prairie, including safer pedestrian crossings, improved accessibility, updated sidewalks, and enhanced streetscape features.

While construction may temporarily impact traffic patterns and parking, downtown businesses, restaurants, services, and attractions remain open throughout the project.

We encourage you to continue shopping, dining, and supporting local businesses during construction. Your support helps keep downtown vibrant while these improvements are completed.

The Downtown Main Street Reconstruction Project focuses on improvements to:

  • The 200 block of E. Main Street
  • The Main Street and King Street intersection
  • The Main Street and Market Street/Church Street intersection

Project improvements include:

  • Wider and more accessible sidewalks
  • Improved pedestrian safety features
  • Updated traffic flow and crossings
  • New landscaping and streetscape enhancements
  • Infrastructure improvements beneath the street
